How a Conference is Done

Information Today provides wifi at their conferences. It has a seat limit, we think, but I am listening to Cliff Landis talk about Facebook and writing at the same time. Fabulous.

Cliff Landis has an Alienware computer, thus he is awesome.

  • Just a point about wifi at conferences. Small, one-facility conferences can easily provide wifi for their attendees; these days it would be strange if they didn’t (though admittedly it took some herding and coaching to get LITA to that point). ALA has begun offering wifi in the convention center for its conferences, but it is the absence of a larger wifi infrastructure in most urban areas that adds such complexity to the conference networking capabilities. Leave the CC, and now you’re at the Hilton where they want to stick it to you for another $10, then you’re at the Fairmont, etc. etc.

I’m jealllllllloussssssssssss of you all! Great reading your posts!
