		<description>It depends on the organization...I'm on several program planning committees this year and a non-profit is a non-profit. Seeing it from the organization side makes me grateful for cut-rate conference fees and some amounts of travel. There's only so much money to go around and the money needs to be spent wisely. Sometimes, expectations of reimbursement seem more than a little out of wack for what the speaker is being asked to do. In the end, I think if your organization wants you involved, then the onus is on them to deliver you to where you need to be as opposed to expecting outside library organizations to pick up the bill. If you want to be more involved on your own then sometimes you need to pay the price of participation.</description>
