Creation Museum in KY

I would not lie to you. Oh, how I wish I could shield you from the crazy, loonymaking reality that is the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. Slate has an article about it today.

I am not sure what I can even say about this without sputtering in disbelief. I do admire this group’s dedication even if I think they are hilariously crazy. Please do not throw rotten vegetables at all Christians. Some of us are quite reasonable. I promise.
Of course, the Smart Bitches have used this opportunity to create a cover snark using one of the dioramas, because what is funnier then Adam and Eve doing it in some lily pads?

Oh, many of us know that most Christians aren’t Recent Creation/Every Word of the Bible is Absolute Fact believers. The SF Chron had an article on that fantasyland museum today as well. The, um, explanation of the Ark is particularly interesting–you just keep redefining “type” of animal until they all fit. And, of course, you note that all animals were vegetarians until after the Flood.

My initial thoughts on the cover contest are that the title should be something like, “I need to see my $100 before you touch the goods”. But then, why would a hooker be meeting her john in a pond full of lily pads?
