The pictures are lovely. I am glad to know that not all of Kansas is that boring. We had to choose between driving through West Texas, which sucks, and driving through that part of Kansas, which sucked. I must admit though that having earth that flat has the interesting benefit of making all the clouds appear close and fluffy. The skies we saw on our drive were amazing.

I guess you were probably due at least one defensive Kansan response, so I will bite the bullet and do it. :)

Yes, right now, Kansas is ridiculously hot and humid. But a lot of it is really beautiful...the Konza Prairie, the Gypsum Hills, Mount Oread (the hill on which the University of Kansas is built), they're all beautiful. It just so happens that the route from TX to WY is one of the less scenic (to put it mildly) in Kansas.

I am not here to throw stones, though...the blinding heat did make it a lot easier to accept my new job in Colorado, where at least the heat, if it is there, is dry. :P

(Seriously, though...Kansas is beautiful. Check out the photos of our family farm in NW Kansas: http://www.flickr.com/photos/informationatrix/sets/72157600205460847/)
