Can I Have This Dance?

It is a couple days late, but Texas A&M has recieved a place in The Dance for the first time ever.

Beat the Hell Outta Syracuse, A! Whoop!

Updated: As Mr. Rochster points out, not the first time ever, just the first time since I have been paying attention!

Pez and Soccer

Instead of getting ready for my 10:30 meeting with the boss-lady, I am putting grape Pez in my Emperor Pez dispenser which I got at the Star Wars nerd extravaganza a couple weeks ago. Pez is important too.

I have only been to a couple of soccer games in my life and I do not know all of the rules of the game, but I love to watch the players. They have a grace that I have not seen in any other team sport. They run and fly back forth across the field with an effortless energy I find amazing. Mr. Rochester, our friend J, and I are going to the NCAA Women’s College Soccer Cup this weekend in College Station. I am looking forward to it and not just because Northgate has cheap beer.

–Jane, off work tomorrow

It’s not Friday yet? (in whiney voice)

I do not claim to be an Astros “fan” but I do try to support my hometown team. I am sad we lost, but proud that we advanced farther than we ever have before. I watched the game at a nice venue downtown called Pub fiction which had great happy hour specials ($6 pitchers!) and good food.

Today has been a blur of preparing for classes, a meeting with graduate students who were unsure about research, a meeting with the boss lady, and a hastily eaten lunch. Geez, I just looked at the clock and it is barely past noon. I still have a desk shift to survive, so if you do not hear from me in a couple of days, send out a search party. I will be the pile of exhaustion stuffed behind the printer with a jam in “the bad place.”
