The Chronicle of Higher Education has a rather ironic (or moronic) article today about a Boston College professor who wrote a book on psychoanalysis and ethics. It turns out that he plagiarized large parts of another book on the same topic. (You have to be subscriber to read the whole article) There has recently been a dialogue in academe about plagiarism among professionals. The Chronicle had a large article in it recently about these issues and the problems and roadblocks that prevent plagiarism from being a punishable offense. How can professors expect their students to have integrity when they themselves are unethical?
