Pacification – I Need Some

In the course of life, there are events which make you question the sanity of the world. For me, this morning, it was hearing that this movie was the top grossing movie at the box office over the weekend. Honestly. I swear, I would not lie about something so horrendous as a family comedy starring Vin Diesel being at the top of anything (unless it was in the OMG I Can Not Believe I Sat Through That list).

I don’t know why you are surprised by this. Children movies are often high grossing because going to the movie is an activity that families can do together. And when you do it, it isn’t just one or two people going it is 4 or 5 in a group. When the kids go, the parents have to take them, which makes two more people see a movie that they would never choose to see themselves. Also why chick flicks do well. Their dates have to take them.

Besides, go easy on the movie. It is a children’s movie. What do you expect? I just think you’re bothered because it is Vin Diesel. But remember he was the voice of the Giant Robot (whatever the name of that cartoon movie was).
