After tonight, I have a breather until LITA Forum, where the cool geeks meet, and I am ready to not be scheduled back to back with meetings and such. Many things have been going on lately in the world, so on the lighter side of things I give you some hometown news. After 37 years of rollercoaster excitement, Astroworld is closing its doors. The theme park has been an institution in Houston my entire life. It is sad to think that I will no longer have to listen to their Fright Fest commercials on the radio, which were always weird and annoying. I remember the first time I worked up the courage to ride the Sky Screamer and the Texas Cyclone. It was exhilarating.
–Jane, thanks for the memories
