This Talis paper, “Do Libraries Matter? The Rise of Library 2.0” by Ken Chad and Paul Miller could not have better timing or more relevance to what has been on my mind lately. Technology and the way in which libraries do and do not use it has been swirling in my brain and adding frustration to my heart of late. Michael Stephens has some wonderful reflections on the implication and implementation of Chad and Miller’s ideas.
I want to run forward into the changes that technology has wrought even as the institutional chains tangle around my feet. Change often only requires one person with a voice and I am a loud talker.
–Jane, change is good. everyone inhale and exhale slowly.
