Immersion was kicked off for me with a trip to Bacado’s for lunch and then an excursion to the Menil. The Menil is a fascinating museum, near Montrose, which is free. At the moment, their rotating exhibit is an African Diaspora display. They had traditional African art placed next to pictures of slaves being sold and the dogs at the Birmingham Riots. It was very neat.
