    Hi Michelle –

I stumbled upon your blog after reading an article about you on the Library Journal ( and I enjoyed your outlook and obvious upbeat personality! =)

I am currently “pre-starting” the process of applying to Graduate School and am very interested in the field of Library Science. I possess a BA in Communications, but since graduating in 2006, I have gained different work experiences and became very interested in the idea of becoming an Academic Librarian.

Right now, I live in the DC Metro area, so I am in the proximity of two schools that offer a MLIS (the University of Maryland, as well as a Catholic university) but there is a chance that we may be relocating so I am concentrating on schools that offer the degree online. Since I am a VA resident, I have the opportunity to take advantage of the Academic Common Market, and saw that Texas Woman’s University is one of the schools that would meet that criteria.

To make this super long-winded story short, I was hoping you might be able to shed some light on my path, or if you had any advice…I’d love to hear it!

    Thank you so much,
    Krissy Murphy
