There is a tropical storm, named Rita, threatening to become a hurricane and come Houston’s way. In an effort to be as cautious as possible, there is a voluntary evacuation order for Galveston Island already. Mr. Rochester, who lives very near the coast, and I have decided that we will board up and go to College Station a day early if need be. My wonderful sister said we could come and stay with her. We are mainly worried about there being too much flooding to get out of town thus making us miss A&M’s game on Saturday evening. Crazy, I know.
Houston has some of the worst street drainage around. A light sprinkle will render many of the roads impassable. I am not exaggerating.
